The RAM-235U is a double u-bolt base with C-Sized 1.5" diameter ball and two stainless steel u-bolts. The double u-bolt base will accommodate rails from 25.4mm to 31.75mm (1 to 1.25") in diameter.

Q: I can't install the nuts with my hands is that normal?

A: Yes, you will need a wrench to assemble this base. The nuts have a nylon lock ring that prevents the nuts from vibrating off. You will need a wrench to get the nuts to tighten past that lock ring.
